I personally like whipscorpions better then the vinegaroons. But you rock for getting either Post up some pics if you get one, preferably while your holding it

You bet Jeff! But, why the preference for one over the other? I can't decide...they're both too kewl! (and you know I'd love to have both, but my roommates will be having none of that..)

Just tell them to suck it up since you're going to end up with both eventually anyway

I've seen them both but never kept either myself. I've always wanted a whip scorpion but they creep my wife out. She is creeped out by centpedes for some reason too which is why I never got any of them. I mean I could probably get either of them if I made a really big deal about it but I wouldn't want to keep anything in the house that she was not comfortable with if you know what I mean. I REALLY like scorpions and tarantulas so lucky for me neither of them bother her She don't necessarily like them but they don't bother her. Anyways, my preference is just personal preference and not based on anything else

Ya know that itchy, tingling, creepy-crawly feeling you get when someone mentions flees, ticks or lice?

Re: Vinegaroons...anyone have experience with these guys?

Vinegaroons and whip scorpions are both supposedly pretty docile. I've held a whip scorpion before and they just crawl along slowly, feeling with their little leg/antennae things. Apparently, it is practically unheard of for them to bite or pinch, and I saw two fighting in an enclosure once and the worst they did was "box" each other with the closed end of a pincher. I have also read somewhere that they are one of only two arachnids on the planet to actually caress their young and "raise" them the way we would think of it. They are probably the friendliest spiders on the planet.

As long as they don't have stingers, I'm alright.
