    Angry Not so good

So, over the past week or so I have watched one of my BPs start to go down hill fast. She was a rescue, the person had her in a 55g tank with aspen bedding(about 6inches deep) 1 little bowl of water, about the size of a sterlite shoebox cut in half and 1 light no UTH. the snake has a bad bad eye cap on one eye and the other eye is just plain dead because of an eye cap. I took her to the vet about a month ago about her general health and the eye caps, got some medicine for her and nothing seemed to happen. now she is starting to open mouth breath and whistle. and now she has what seems to be "boggers" for lack of a better example. on the edges of her mouth, she is still in blue but it has only been about 3 or 4 days in blue. she has ate once since iv had her. (about 3 months) and not shed. I just dont know what to do. I cant afford anthor $300 vet bill and her state has just gotin worse since I got her. She is the only snake I have that is having any trouble at all. she has been a problem child since I got her. GAH STUPID PREVIOUS OWNERS!!! hate em, why cant people do any research before they get snakes? I feel there is nothing else I can do for this poor girl. any ideas?

    Re: Not so good

If she has not shed in 3 months, I'm thinking that there is something wrong.......now. I find that one of the first things that a rescue does in good conditions is shed.
Now I don't know what the situation is, I don't know how many snakes you have or your history with them. I'm not trying to challenge your snake keeping ability in the slightest, BUT, that is just my observation.

Am I putting my foot in my mouth or does anything I said make sense?

    Re: Not so good

iv had ALOT of trouble with her tank and conditions i just recently switched her to a tub with a UTH and the conditions are much much better. this is why I think she started to shed (blue) hopfully she will shed and she will feel better and look better

as far as xp with them, i currentlly have 7 snakes and have owned them for about a year year and a half she was my 4th snake. second ball

    Re: Not so good

The snake obviously needs more meds. BG has no idea what the doc prescribed last time, but they didn't work. If you can't afford to take your snake to the Vet, then you're just probably going to watch it die. We have no miracle cure for you here, you need to help this snake. The only way to do that is to go to a qualified Vet and get meds to help it.

    Re: Not so good

it sounds lik ur snake is still stressed out, dehydrated, under-fed, and has a pretty bad RI. the only hard one is the RI. and that WILL require meds from ur vet. i would bump up humidity and temps and leave it alone until its done shedding, and then try and see a vet for meds for the RI. good luck.

and as BG said, if u cant get to the vet for treatment u will watch that snake die
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.
