Jellyfish
Did a bit of searching around and found this!
www.jellyfishart.com
You can buy your own jellyfish with a custom tank for a reasonable price! That is awesome, I have wanted a jellyfish ever since I saw the movie "7 pounds".
What is your all's thoughts on this? Cool? Stupid?

Same here, and to think you can have them like any other fish now?!
That's so cool, now if only I had an extra $300 on hand.

This!!! My hubby and I started researching Jellyfish keeping as soon as we got back from the Baltimore aquarium and did even more after seeing "7 pounds". We have two fish tanks now (a 125 gallon freshwater and a 30 gallon freshwater) and I love, love, love my fish. Before getting into Jellyfish, though, we are going to build a big (400 +/- gallons) tank in the basement so that we can keep our Pacu's and not have to rehome them. They are currently near 20 inches (we have two) and are quickly outgrowing the 125 gallon. Hope you can get a tank set up and share pics!!!!

Sounds like you have some pretty nice tanks! I would love to see them. I used to have a Pacu and the thing was a monster. He was given to me by one of my friends when I was about 15 and I tried keeping him in a 55 Gal. I soon realized that this was no-where near enough room for the fella. He was only about 6 inches at the time but I did some research and realized I would have to get rid of him.
Gave him away to a local pet shop and I believe they actually ended up re-selling him!
But yeah I would love to see your tanks and maybe your soon to be 400 gl building process.

Re: Jellyfish
hope you have access to live brine all the time. the aquarium that was attached to my last lab could only get these guys to eat live brine. funny how they say the will eat frozen......
cool idea but misleading. funny how they listed it as easier to care for than fish yet our aquairum, with professional aquarist, had a hard time keeping them alive even with some really nice tanks with more than adequate filtration.

Re: Jellyfish
if anyone gets these, i would be interested in hearing some experiences with them. it would be really cool if you could keep them alive for a long time.
i have had upside-downs but they are photosynthetic.

Re: Jellyfish
I have had Eastern Box Jellys that I found while snake hunting around the Albmarle sound. I found my biggest problem was filtration. As even the little Red Sea back filters for 2 gal aquariums with sponges over the intake were to much for them. I'd like to hear any solutions to that problem as I'd like to go get more next spring during the spawning season.
