    Shin splints when running/jumping rope???

I always have a problem with shin splints when I run and jump rope. I think it is because I am heavy and I would imagine the muscles there must be weaker if I am having a problem with them. I am also pretty sure I run flat footed so I don't know if that contributes to it too or not. Just curious how many other people do or don't have this problem when they run?

Ive had problems in the past. I dont work out like I used to, but switching up a bit and getting on a bike really helps. Some good hill work does wonders and its easy on that area. I dont like exercise bikes, but if you dont have a good place to ride, spinning classes can be pretty intense.
