    whats the difference

    just wondering what the difference is between a texas ratsnake and a black ratsnake. like the temperment. length. heat requirments. or anything else

    Not much. The Texas can have a lot of pink, the black tends to be just black. Both have well deserved reputations as being slightly aggressive but both have examples of docile animals.

    Both can get in the 4 to 6 foot range with 4 1/2 being average. Both can live 20 years or more.

    If it's a first snake for you I'd recommend something else. If you've got some experience you'll probably enjoy them.
