    Litter update

Just checked on the litter. They will be a week old tomorrow and they have peach fuzz. I still can't tell sexes yet as I (even with photo examples) cannot tell them apart at this age. Though I do have a question. On a mouse forum I'm on it shows you how to sex mice up to a certain age. The photos provided for 6 day old mice (which is how old mine are) show furred mice with the females showing nipples. Mine are not nearly that furred. Actually you can barely see the beginning of their fur growth. Could it be that they used the wrong picture or are mine just really slow? It has been so long since I bred mice so I can't really remember when they hit certain stages of growth during these 3-4 weeks.

They are all dark in coloration but as of right now I cannot tell if they will be black or blue.

Dark just means that they won't be white/ligh colored. At 6 days they're just going to have the peach fuzz, so I'm guessing the picture was of older mouse pups.

They have to be pretty covered in white fur to see the nipple spots. After you keep breeding for a while you should be able to tell right after they are born because like rats their parts are differently spaced apart, its just harder to spot because they are so tiny.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Haha, I know they are not going to be light colored. The mothers are both blues and the father was a himalayan so I have no idea if they will end up blue like their moms or black. Yea, I tried looking at their genitals to see if I could tell and it all looks the same to me.
