About to pop

I have two does that are about to pop. They will deliver some time this week, hopefully in the next 2-3 days. They are huge. One is a long-hair satin blue and the other is a satin blue (I'm pretty sure she's not long-hair. Has smoother fur) I'm about to go take pictures of them once I'm done cleaning their tub. I can't wait for these babies. The two does were bred to a long-hair satin himilayan (spelling). The long-hair doe is 48g, the smooth coat doe is 46g. The male is 38g. Pictures to come!

Both girls are curled up in a huge nest they have made and have barely moved out of it all day, so I've got my fingers crossed for the next day or two. Of course it would be really awesome to wake up tomorrow morning and find babies. I guess we shall see.

They both dropped litters! I counted 15-16 babies in total. All had nice milk bands. Pictures to come tomorrow since I don't want to disturb them too much.

Those mice are AWESOME! Very nice job in your breeding selection, that male is stunning. I will start doing the same thing with rats soon here and i do have a friend whos got a long hair all black rat already so... Do you just feed off the extras and keep the really nice babies?

Thanks! I plan on trying to sell a few males. I hope to keep all females. I love these mice. They are so pretty. The male is in with an albino female right now. She was a feeder but she looked a little pregnant so I kept her, but so far she's not getting any larger. So if she does not start looking pregnant soon, then he should get the job done.

I was thinking of going in and doing an official count. I can't wait till I can start sexing the babies and find out how many females I have!

Better count of the babies today. Looks to be about 19 babies from the two litters. All appear to be developing a dark coloration so I guess we shall see what they are when they get fur in. All have milk bands and are growing well. Pictures to come when they are a week old. (28th)
