    Question about my new hognose

Hi! I got a western hognose in November at the White Plains expo. He's been doing really well. He's eaten twice for me so far but the last week and a half he has been refusing food. He also hasn't pooed since I've had him. A friend of mine said not to worry since he's eating pinkies and probably isn't generating enough waste from them. Is this normal? I don't want to just assume that everything is fine and have him actually have a problem. Him and the boa I picked up are my first snakes so I'm worried about making sure my husbandry and care is on point. He's in a 10g tank with aspen bedding about 3-4 inches deep. Temps about mid 80s on the warm side. Thanks so much!

The poo thing I would not probably worry to much about, snakes can hold it a long time, how long have you had him and seen no bowel movement?

Re: Question about my new hognose

i had similar concerns when i first got my hoggy as well, but eating pinkies, the amount they poo is so incredibly small it was really hard to tell, especially since i had him on aspen and i wasn't picking through the bedding to see if he went.
