    I always loved going to Assateague as a child and seeing the wild ponies.

    Ahhh. The Shackleford ponys...

    These are special wild horses. They have adapted to eat sea and sand dune vegetation and will drink salt water, or so I've heard...

    They don't actually drink the ocean water. They dig holes in the sand and kind of get filtered water, so to speak...

    Awsome pics!!! Are they from obx? My boy gets pics of the wild horses from obx every year and they are cool!!! Pics don't come out as good as yours but they are always cool pics non the less

    I gotta admit I really dont like horses much for some reason..

    But wild horses like that are pretty incredible. Nice pics.
