You should not fear congress. Or the ban. We should be pulling together and not worrying about if we are going to be allowed to own these animals. We should be working as hard as we can at defeating this bill. We have the power united to destroy this thing and then you can get your yellow when you finish college.

from the way i read it, if the ban were to pass you can still own and buy them within your state.

are you serious. i thought the bill was to ban them period, and the would be illegal to buy like drugs or somthing, also denial i was about to pm, you, since i know you keep the big ones, i do try and have sent enough fax and calls, i've lost count. to let you in on a little of my life history, i had 4 gamecocks, of courese for looks, i live on a farm, so loving chickens is a must, the neighbor complained, the animal control came and took them all, because i had roosters and they were breed to fight, short story, they took them away cause they thought i was fighting my pets, i tried but couldn't do anything about, but i bought some more hehe, though this was when i was youger and less roughty-point of stroy is--I do get paranoid about them taking them away, i've waited 20 years to have one, and finally had a chance to get a bp, and now im addicted

True but the unfortunate thing is not every state has a breeder for each of these animals listed.

Also, many of the breeders out there depend on sales outside their own state to stay in business; how much market is there for anacondas in the state any given breeder is in? Retics? Boas? Burmese? I would imagine most breeders would either have to scale back to producing 1-2 clutches/year max or quit altogether, except possibly in huge/high population states like California.

I don't keep any giants, and I don't plan to, but this bill still scares me. It's no HR669, which would have made transporting even my leopard gecko across state lines a felony, but it's the first step down a road I don't want to travel.
Mountain bikes are for slow people, and reptiles are far better pets than cats & dogs!

The ban is that you cannot trade/sell out of state, or even transport it out of state.

If it passes, and you do get caught, its a Federal charge also. I wouldn't recommend talking about what you're referring to as you will probably get a violation, they like to hand them out like candy.

In New Jersey both Anacondas are prohibited to own or possess.
