    Double clicking every link

I've been having a lot of problems lately with needing to click on a link twice before it will come up. If I do it once I just get the spinning arrow. This is particularly bothersome when I post a message on a thread. I hit the 'submit' button and I get the spinning arrow and it just hangs there. If I hit the submit button a second time I get a message saying that it's a duplicate post. This is only happening for me on this web site. I'm running Windows XP with firefox 3.5.5 as my browser. It doesn't seem to do it when I'm using IE, (but I hate using IE...)

    Re: Double clicking every link

    Hi,

I just updated to that to test for you and it seems to work ok for me. Are you running any security related scripts?

I can't think of any that would stop a simple click working though.

    Re: Double clicking every link

For security I'm just running AVG 9.0 antivirus software and also their firewall. I just don't understand why IE 8.0.6 seems to be working OK, but Firefox always gets hung.

Edit: Nevermind. IE just got hung up on me also while posting this message.

    Re: Double clicking every link

    Hi,

Try turning off the link scanner in avg - I suspect it is because something is either scanning or attempting to modify every link it finds. And on forum pages that tends to add up to a lot.

There was a firefox plugin called gearshifter (I think ) a friend told me about that allowed you to run custom scripts on any page by modifying any links it found. He used it to skip ads or get around download waiting times.

And AVG intoduced a tool that pre-scanned all links from a page to detect threats before you clicked on them.

Both of those things could potentially cause the problem you are seeing I suspect.

    Re: Double clicking every link

I just tried that and it didn't seem to make a difference. It just bugs me that this is the only website it seems to be happening to me on. I'll have to try some other stuff.

    Re: Double clicking every link

I will run some tests of my own and see if I can duplicate the problem.
