    They're all getting so big!!

I just weighed all of my BPs, and it's amazing how fast they are growing! My little babies especially, who have basically doubled in weight since I got them (little over a month ago). Thought I'd share some pictures of their weighings, and a few from right after... only one I couldn't catch on film was Mona, because she refuses to sit still on the scale. But for the split-second I got her in the bowl, it registered around 1850g. Warning, photo spam ahead!

First Delilah, weighing in at 647g - and barely a year old!

Almost too big for her 28qt now

Next Toby @ 587g, and breeding like a rabbit already...

    Vinnie the spider @ 222g

The little guy, Orlando (het albino) @ 185g

Rosalind the female het @ 468g... hoping she'll make breeding weight by next year (2010-11), but might have to wait one more.

And Pedro the Mojave @227g, who is such a PIG, he went from smallest to largest baby in a matter of weeks...

Finally a cute shot of Mona, who never wants to go back in her tub...

Thanks! I love Orlando's banding too... I wasn't planning to get a het pair yet, but HAD to have that snake when I saw him! I just hope the markings pass along to his offspring, since that would look so cool on a high-contrast albino (both parents are from high-contrast lines).

Nice collection. And what a great weight for a female that is less than a year old.

Thank you! She was a slow starter, as it took us a while to discover her only food preference (live mice)... once that was figured out, she has been growing like a weed! At this rate she'll be ready to breed next winter. Oh, but we now have to feed 3-4 adult mice per feeding, since she still won't take a rat.

Re: They're all getting so big!!

Thanks all! I'm so proud of my babies, and yes they do grow like weeds when they're eating well! Every snake has taken their meals the last few weeks, even Mona the faster & my new baby corn. Before I know it they will all be full-grown adults... weird.

yeah when I was cleaning my tubs last weekend i happen to weight my horde ( at leas some of them ) and all my small guys are about 1year old ( littler older ) and they went from around 100grams to over 800 gram on all of them. my larger ones I had 3 weight in at te same 1864 grams and they all females which I might breed to the albino if will lol so I have a bunch of hets to trade around later. Awesome, mechnut... This is my first experience with snake keeping (9 months now), so everything is new and fun for me!

Btw, on the corn snake forum I just joined, they do what's called "progression threads." Basically you can start a thread for your snake, posting pictures over time as they grow... kinda neat to look back at the older ones, and see how they grow & change colors. Might be something to do here?
