Talking Finally got a "yawn" picture!

I absolutely love seeing pictures of snakes with their mouths wide open, but never have been able to catch one myself... so last night when I was feeding Pedro, I waited until just after he swallowed the mouse, and snapped a pic of his jaw re-alignment. Not the clearest or closest shot, but at least now I know how to time them - LOL.

And a few others from the feeding:

And yeah, I know the prey is too small for him... I was just trying to get rid of the leftover frozen hoppers (since everyone's outgrown them now), and knew he'd happily eat two of them.

Yeah, it sure is tricky! All about the timing, which is especially tough with my point-and-shoot... can't wait to get a DSLR camera.

He does get very possessive about his mice, LOL.

    Mojave?
Yep, he's a Mojave... got him from Justin Kobylka (along with my het pair), and I think he is just wonderful.

lol i could help you, i have a girl who LOVES to open her mouth. then close it on your hand.

Great shot! i love seeing the insides of their mouths too, usually when i feed i hang around to see everyone yawn and check their mouths for anything unusual.

Yeah, that's okay - I think I'll pass on your offer.

I never thought of doing that, but it's a good idea... I'm always observing anyway, since they usually eat live food.
