    max heat for heat tape?

    Hello there, I was wondering...

What is the maximum heat heat tape can be run at in a rack? Say the maximum I should set my thermostat at? Also, what is the maximum heat it will heat up to with no regulation (say thermostat failure).

4" and 11" if they are different maxes.

    Thanks

Flex watt can run around 130 degree without being connected to a dimmer/reostat or thermostat.

My flex-watt came with instructions saying it should never be allowed to go over 95 and that is the 11'

Re: max heat for heat tape?

Thanks, was wondering though... if my thermostat fails... how hot will heat tape run left at max power? Will it damage itself running that hot? Melt the tubs etc in the racks?

And then as a second part, how hot is safe for the tubs/racks say in cold weather as long as the basking spot is temping at a good temerature.

    Thanks
