New Female ETB!!!!

I got some pictures from Rob McRobbie in Montreal, Canada of the little Red Gem I just recently purchased off of him, so I figured I would share them with the rest of you. She should arrive early November and I can't wait. I will take some picture of the male that I got from Mo Perri (also in Canada), that is also cb by Rob, but was born in 2006. Thanks again Rob!

personally I'm amazed at how SIMILAR to chondros they are. I mean, boa vs python, south america vs pacific islands.. Body structure, color, color CHANGE as they age, and the niche they fill in their environment are all extremely similar, if not identical.

I still have to say they are way different. ETBs are typically born with a little bit of green on them. Rico produced two green babies from the ova this year. Head structure and design is so different. ETBs seem to be more adapt for eating birds and larger prey than chondros. I honestly believe the labial pits of the ETB are more developed as well. Maybe it just seemed more alert to me when I was baby sitting one. This is, of course, leaving out the basic and still complex differences of boas to pythons. Along with other tid bits.

I plan on getting a baby ETB very soon (cats out of the bag ) and this post has motivated me even more. I really enjoy both species, but have only ever been serious about chondros.

i agree fully with david. if you see adults or even juvi's next to each other you can definitely tell how different they are. ETB have more of a "pit bullish" head. they are really boxy. GTP are more slender.

i too hope to one day have a ETB project. but CB ones are kinda pricey.

She's beautiful!! I love how they change color.....truly a neat species!

I would be *soo* tempted to hold her too....but I hear they aren't known for being friendly.
