Vision rack issues & Johnson A419 offset.
Easy guys and gals, I have a few issues with my vision rack. First off, it holds moisture about as good as I do when I'm taking a pee. Second I was wondering if any of you have pics or info on how you run the heat cable on the individual levels of a CB70 rack to achieve similar temps between each tub?
Also, do any of you guys have experience setting the offset on a Johnson A419 thermostat? Do I just set the offset to how many degrees I want it to drop or do I have to set it to the actual temp that I want it to drop to? You replies are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

well dont use heat cable for one. its horrible at keeping the same temps. stay with heat tape
and for the humidity try covering the tops a bit better

That won't cause issues with the tubs sliding in and out?

In my opinion vision racks an freedombreeder racks are ment to be used in climatized rooms were the temp at the ceiling is the same as on the floor.
The heat cable is ment to create a hot spot not an overal temp.
If you put tape on top of a shelf you shouldn't have problems removing the tubs and it will hold the humidity better.

The heat ropes work fine. They are actually more accurate than flexxwatt because they dont vary from one to another as it is all one continuous cable. I have vision, freedom breeder and animal plastics racks and the vision are my favs( I have 4 now). I dont have any photos, go to the vision website and they should have pics.
As the humidity is concerned all you need to do is tape over the holes on the outside of tops to get the humidity dialed in. I only keep a few holes at the front(cool side) of the rack uncovered and tape over the rest. If you live in a humid place you would leave them uncovered or find a good median.
I have never used Johnson controls so I cant help you with that.

Thanks Raul! I thought about using tape but somebody mentioned that tape and snakes are a bad thing. I don't think that snake will be able to make contact with the tape though. Thanks again.

You tape on the outside where the snake can never reach
