So, I ended up being shorter on funds than I had hoped... And wasn't able to get the Male Spider that I was hoping for...
I also would have gone with a Pastel, however my breeder...someone I know pretty well didn't have any this year...
I did pick up this male normal from the same guy though...
He is very calm...less jumpy than some of my Baby's that I had a few years ago...He came from Mojave-Mojave match up...
He's no spider...but I am very happy with him
And of course, had to let my son name him... Sir Topemhat. If any of you have a 4 year old son who watches "Thomas" you'll understand. Lol
I'll snag a pic of his setup later...but he's in a 10 gal, as he's pretty small still. I cut black foam board and it fits under the screen lid on the lip of the tank...covers about 60% of the top to help with humidity. Heat pad under warm side on a homemade dimmer, two identical hides (black bowls with a hole soldered out), water dish, aspen bedding, water tank, and a few fake plants.
One reason I went with the 10 gallon that I already had (I cleaned it out thoroughly) is because I had already Krylon'd the back and side black. That + the black foamboard over the cooler 60% of the tank, I think adds some security for him....
Questions or advice are welcome!
Thanks...
