do i need help with my rack set up ?

i just made this rack a few days ago. i used to house my snakes in tubs with lids and used under belly heat.(the stuff that sticks under the tub).
the tubs were always vary humid with lots of water on the sides of the tubs.

when i made the rack i used a spacer about 1/8 of an inch beetween the top of the tubs and each shelf.i have pics of what i used for the spacer. but my main concern is that it seems its not holding humidity. i was thinking maybe it could be that their are to big of and to many holes in the tubs.
i am not using a spray bottle to spray them down. i will be picking one up tommorow though.

    should i be concerned ?

i was thinking i could go to home depot and pick up something that would make up for that gap. some cool looking plastic tile floor ?
dose anyone have this same problem ?

    any help would be great.
    thanks robert

With the 1/8 gap you don't really need holes, and it would probably hold humidity better without them. You could tape over the holes on the outside and see if that works?
