I love the first one. I commend you on all of those pictures because those little buggers are FAST! I like to compare them to dragonflies because at first glance they seem like insects, they're so tiny and quick.

LOL! Yes, they are quite fast. Here's my secret, we have our feeders hanging on shepherd's hooks. I tie a small limb to the top of the shepherd hook, and now the little Hummers have somewhere to rest before/after taking a drink. It makes it SO much easier to photograph them!

    Thanks for the comments!

gorgeous! I'm so jealous! The only one ive ever gotten to see close up was dead.. pretty, but dead

I love the bottom one, the fluffy little body! If you didn't sharpen your photos before posting them thats really the only thing i would suggest

Thanks for the comment! Although I could be wrong here, but I am 99% sure that I did NOT sharpen any of these photos. Only major photoshop action I did besides cropping was adjust the saturation.

    Thanks again!

Great pictures, the first one is absolutely an eye catcher. All of the pictures are nice though. Although I don't see why they call it ruby-throated.

The males (my photos are of a female) have very bright ruby-colored throats. I have some photos of males, and I will try and post them a bit later on.
