    My spider is here!!

I paid for this little guy nearly 2 months ago, and he finally arrived today... I'm in love already! He is just as beautiful as I expected, and seems to have a really nice personality - very curious and outgoing, which I've heard is typical of the spider BPs. Anyway, here's Vinnie (still deciding on the name), who was bred by Jake Wallace:

Love his symmetrical pattern - and not a single spot!

P.S. My new rack arrived at the same time as Vinnie, so hopefully I'll get it set up this weekend... everything is here at last.

Thanks all! And yes, he is definitely a HE - at least according to Jake.

My big plan for this guy is to breed him to a pastel, hopefully one of Toby's offspring, and make me some pretty bumblebees. Until then, I'll probably mate him with my normal Delilah (both of whom should be ready for the 2010-11 season?), since her pattern should compliment his. I'm thrilled to have him, regardless of any breeding plans!

I'm glad you are happy with him. Let me know if he's as big of a pig with the rodents for you as he was here. From his 2nd meal on he's been eating two rat pups or two hoppers every feeding. Thanks again for the smooth transaction!
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

Ooo he's so nice. I've been thinking about getting a spider if I get another ball. Looks like he's happy to have found a home =]

Right back at'cha! I will feed him on Sunday, since that's when my others are due to eat... two hoppers it is, and I'll let you know if he takes them. Do you generally feed the hatchlings every 5 days, or just once a week?

I've been trying to leave him alone, since I know he needs to settle - it's so hard, though! He seems fine with the handling, but that will be it until after he's eaten... I swear. Another picture from today:

I just noticed, his head pattern looks like a piece broke off & floated into the middle (of his head)... LOL.
