Thanks so much, dakski. I remember reading through your thread for Behira, quite a while back before I was even seriously considering getting a boa myself, and thinking that she sounded like just the perfect snake to own.

Awww, that's awesome. Behira rocks. So does Feliz, my dwarf BCC.

I am glad Behira and her thread helped you decide to get into Boas. You will not be disappointed.

Good luck and keep us in the loop on your boas.

Gen's first shed with me was on 8/21/19, and went very smoothly. I had a chance to take pictures of him a couple days later; it was somewhat overcast and the lighting was suboptimal, but still, a handsome boy.

More recently, I was fortunate enough last week to be able to give him a brief jaunt in the sunlight, with some nice resultant photos. You can see a hint of his iridescence in some of the pictures, and I was particularly delighted by that tongue shot!

Thank you, Richard! I love all my snakes, but since the BPs are usually in their hides, and Q is so dark he sometimes blends into the shadows, I'd say Gen is the most fun to come home to - being a rich patch of red that stands out from wherever he happens to be sitting in his enclosure.

It really is so hard to get decent shots of the darker snakes as you say, so glad you having fun with the boas, they really are fun arnt they

What a gorgeous snake, he looks so shiny and healthy! Such a beautiful, rich red colour and he has some nice iridescence on his scales.

Such a handsome boy! Glad his first shed home went well.

Heh... one of Vin's hypo bloods was runner-up for "first snake" when I visited his table at White Plains a while back. I'm gonna be watching Genesis' thread to see how he develops. There's a chance I may be going back for one more boa a few years down the road... ;)

@Luvyna: Thank you! I'm not sure if it's just because he's young, but he kind of feels as "silky" as he looks.

@WrongPython: Adelita sounds like she's been an absolutely darling so far, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if you ended up with more boas in the not-so-distant future ... ;)

Second shed from Gen was on 10/24/19. I actually walked in on him in the middle of it, and hastily shuffled back out to give him his privacy. Here are a few photos from a couple days post-shed, including some face close-ups!
