    Miniature Horse's
I'm looking for another addition to golliopolus farm:)

Anyone have or have exp with miniatures? Our friends have a few and while I like the fact the shetlands can be ridden I really love the miniatures...

This is Steppin into style (who I'm currently looking at). She is 3 years old and 34 inches.

She has been exposed to Aspen

Thanks for the feedback, just starting my research....

A friend of mine does/did miniatures. I think the main thing is to find minatures that have the conformation of a real horse, instead of the dwarfism that's so prevalent. Both of those are really nice horses.

Get ones that are trained for the cart pulling, that's tons of fun! Good luck.

That's the first thing I thought when I saw the pictures of her.... she seems to be well proportioned. She's beautiful!

First thing I would ask is is she AMHR registered? What do you want to do? Carting is great fun, you can do obstacle carting, pleasure carting and the sulkies (which are a BLAST :D) Are you going in for fun or are you serious about breeding her in the future? What is her pedigree? What is the stallions pedigree that she was put in with and is he AMHR registered? How is her over all health (she IS beautiful) Is this her first foal, it should be? The miniature horse market is very very bad right now so if you plan to sell the foal keep that in mind. Has she been shown? What kind of movement does she have? Does she stand nice for clipping, having feet done, load well and things like that. How is her confirmation? It is hard to tell in the photos but does one of her back legs turn out (it could be the way she is standing)?

I can't see her neck very well, but he has a short thick neck. His head is blocky where hers seems more refined. She has nice ears :) He looks to me to be smaller than she is. What where they breeding for, size? Do you want to keep the foal?

Over all they are nice mini's. She is very fetching. He would not be my first choice for a sire but his has his nice points.

Sorry for such a long post.

    We bought her last night.

They are both AMHR registered. She is 34.25 inches, he was only 29 inches.

This is her first foul. She is really just going to be a pet. I'd like to get her trained on for a cart and maybe have my son show her in 4h. She shows extremely well, took a blue ribbon last weekend at the media fair (over a 100 mini's from as far as Texas and Montana.

She stands great for clipping, knows her name and just simply a great horse. We did not take him as you said he would not have been our first choice for a sire. I did draw up a contract to breed her next year to another sire they have.

I was not able to pick her up last night and did not grab the registries, but will post their pedigree's later in the week.
