Here are a few new pics of his cage and him too. I switched to a more naturalistic terrarium approach, using cypress mulch over a layer of eco-earth. I keep it pretty dry though, to prevent scale rot. And I put a sheet of newspaper down atop the substrate before feeding, to eliminate any risk of him swallowing wood.
He loves his half-log hide. The hide on the left is his cool hide and is actually just some grapevine that he loves to entwine himself in.

    Here's the hide closeup:

And here's my happy boy himself!

I'm telling you guys, I love ball pythons. But Apache is so much "funner" to handle. :)

How big is Apache? I have a 26 incher, i love him to death. I love my BP too, but I agree Boas are just funner to handle, maybe its because i like handling large snakes, and well he isn't big, but hes bigger than my 14inch Cupid.

I agree about the BP vs. the RTB and handling. The Boa almost feels at home in your hands. I love the way the long thin tail is always reaching for something. BP unlike the Boa have short stubby tails and just don't feel as comfortable in the air. Atleast when they are young.

my boa was born on March 1, 2004. And he is 26inches. I like the way all snakes feel when you hold them, especially the big ones :o
