I am currently looking into the possiblity of purchasing my first BCI, and trying to decide if I have enough room to house this size of an adult snake. I know that they range from 5 to around 7 feet in length. I was wondering what size of enclosures are y'all using to house your adult BCI's. You know how long, wide, and high are they. This way I can make sure that I will have enough room for him when he gets to be an adult BCI. I would hate to get one and then find out that the area when he would be kept will not handle the size of enclosure he would need as an adult snake.

    Thanks in advance.

minimum for an adult male bci is 4x2x2, a better size is 5x2x2 or 5x3x3 or bigger if you can

A female BCI is going to need a 6x2 or better.
Height is not so much a factor with adult boas, but you can figure needing a minimum of 12" in height.
5'-7' is a right for a male BCI with 5' being a very small male. Most males I have seen to average around 6'. Females are typically quite a bit larger with the average being in the 7-8' range and quite a bit girthier than the males.

    I am going to go with a 5' x 3'x 2'
thats 15 square feet of ground space.
As a general rule of thumb (IMO): snakes length x 2 = adaquate square ft.
So if you were to get a 10ft female you would want at least 20 square ft of ground space.
Also dont go too square. Give him a long tank so he can stretch out.
That doesnt apply to the snakes that like small encosure like BP's.

Do any of y'all have any pictures that you could post up? This way I can get a better Idea of what y'all's enclosures look like, and how I might want mine to look.

    Thanks

You could try cruising through the photo gallery. There's tons of pictures of all sorts of enclosures. Great way to get ideas!
