97 year old grandfather holds first snake...
First off, happy father's day to all the dads out there.
I was fortunate enough to host 3 generations of Frechette fathers (my brother, father and grandfather) at my house today. I made a feast of stuffed peppers, chicken wings, lobsters, steamers, burgers, dogs, pasta salad, grilled corn on the cob and grilled asparagus.

On top of a great day with family, I was able to introduce my two year old niece and my 97 year old grandfather to snakes for the first time. My grandfather even held a snake for the first time in his life!!

All in all, it was an awesome day!!
I hope you all had a great day as well.

This is amazing, my grandparents are in a home now and my grandmother has pretty late stage dementia so its always a bittersweet visit. My grandfather seemed really excited about my snake when I showed them, so you've inspired me to maybe bring him with me next time and spice up our visit a little 😊👍

Great story, sounds like a awesomely great day for all! :)

Not too many WW II vets still around. You are quite fortunate to still have him and learn from him too!

Thanks Reinz. You're absolutely right, not too many WWII vets still alive. He's still going strong too.

He was just featured in a book written by a local author about WWII vets telling their stories of WWII in their own words. He had a chapter written about him. The book has been successful beyond expectations.

He's gone on many book signings and has been featured on local news stations, local and Boston newspapers, etc...

That's a home run, brother. Congrats all the way around.

My grandfather is a WWII vet as well. Up until he was 90 a few years ago he would drive himself every winter from NE down here to Florida. They are the real deal.
