    luna progression thread
i should’ve started this yesterday but didnt so ill do a catch-up with some pictures too!

yesterday (day i received her): so she came in the mail! i opened her up and was amazed at how small she was! i put her in her tub she explored every nook and cranny in the tub then eventually burrowed herself in on the UTH then a couple hours later i got her out and weighed her! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f8d793077a.jpg then i put her back into her tub and let her burrow and do her thing for the rest of the night

now to today!: i woke up to her curled up in her hide then turned her lights out and she immediately burrowed. then later i noticed she was under her water bowl https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4f15722a38.jpg then i took the water bowl out and moved it and refilled it and put it back in there more towards the middle so she cant go under! then she finally started getting comfortable and coming out on her own for a couple hours exploring more and just chilling. took her out for a little bit to handle her and she was calm as can be slithering around my hands and eventually just laying still! will update tomorrow as thatll be the first feeding

Hognose usually won't eat off tongs until they get bigger. Cosmo has been with me since this past March and has gone from 11 to almost 60 grams and still won't eat off tongs. I just let him know it's there with tongs, set it down and walk away. It's always gone within a few minutes.

Don't be discouraged, sometimes they just need to settle in before they're ready to eat.

i know, ive heard the tongs thing. the breeder sent me his feeding chart for her and shes ate successfully with tongs 7 out of the last 11 feedings hes given her since november 2nd, so i figured id try! if she didnt eat with tongues she ate when it was left overnight. only once did she miss a feeding. i also feel like for her age shes really small? but i dont know for sure. another question, if she doesnt eat, how long should i wait to try again?

well! she didnt eat, so i got her out today to weigh her to make sure she hasnt lost weight (she hasnt) but my baby is going into shed! her eyes have turned greyish/blue, explains why shes been rather lethargic
