Silly question :)

I was wondering... Do snakes know the difference between individual people? I ask this because when I handle Peanut, he is attentive and active, flickers his tounge wildly. When anyone else handles him he just sort of lays there still, but then immediately goes back to the active little guy he is when handed to me. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I think he likes me :).

I think they can. Some will argue they are too simple to understand such things.

But Monty becomes rather relaxed around me and can get irritable around others. Maybe it's based on trust. They recognize you and know you can be trusted. But others they don't. Hmmm

In my experience many species come to recognize their keepers to some extent.
