Is this girl worth the price?

The above is a link to Indonesia's equivalent of morphmarket. She is a Mojave Banana Leopard Lemonblast. Price is at 1650 US dollars. Need your opinions on this one before i decide to buy

As a pet: It is a neat looking snake.
As a breeder: I see nothing special about the genetics.

Would I spend $1650 on a pet ball python? Probably not (unless I was a photographer, model, or rich). :)

But is the price fair given the 5 genes tho? Because i see similar snakes at morphmarket with 4 of the 5 genes and they cost like 600 USD. I feel like the addition of 1 gene and the price becoming 1k higher is a bit much. The reptile community in my country is often is full of haggling. They can double the price because they expect you to halve the price when negotiating and all that.

Not knowing the market there I can't say if it's worth it..... But it sounds like you already know it's not.

If it's something hard to get there maybe it is worth it.... In the correct situation. For me, as a pet? Nope! As a breeder if it's got a gene I just have to have? Maybe.

There is only one way to see how much they will haggle and that's to do it. If it's worth it to you. Even at half that price I'm not a player, but maybe you are. Nobody knows that but you.

In the end something is only worth what somebody is willing to pay. Just because I'm not does not mean there is not somebody that will..... Maybe that's you, but then maybe not.

However, I think my price research was kinda rushed yesterday. Males with 4 of the 5 genes that the above snake has can be bought at 600 USD. But I saw three females at morphmarket that have only 3 of the 5 genes (they also have irrelevant hets because i am not a breeder) and the price for the female snakes from 3 different breeders were the same 1500 USD. So it is females with 3 out of 5 genes at 1500 USD on morphmarket vs female with all 5 genes at 1650 USD here. Shipping is free on top of that. So we agreed on a price and the deal was done. I should receive her in a couple days.

If you're not a breeder why are the genes important to you? You want to breed? If I'm buying a pet I go off of it's looks and not what's it's babies might look like. Or does this snake just hit you right where you had to have it?

It is not the genes that I care about so much, it is the look that the 5 combined genes give to the snake that caught my eyes. That's why I care about visible genes but not hets. I happen to be in a financialy comfortable position, and I really was in the market for a bright BP with Leopard in it. I saw ALL the snakes that the website had to offer, There were only 2 that I liked. The first one almost cost me 7000 USD, I negotiated it down to 5500 but the snake looked terrible in person (went there myself), So I canceled. Honestly 1650 is within my price range and I am happy with it.

I wish I could drop the money on a Amazon Basin Emerald Tree Boa, they're $5-12K USD. Of course the ones I would want are at that higher end. I may have the money but I simply can not justify it. Not yet. My Northern makes me plenty happy. Maybe once she's gone and I need to fill that hole.

Good for you though. Drop that coin because you can't take it with you.

2 breeders already said they might be able to hatch this one for me by end of year, and then i am done. 4 total is enough. If u ask me, thats the sickest-looking BP of all time, and it shouldnt be too expensive, just pastel leopard freeway
