Selket the Scorpion Goddess
Forever ago, Monty suggested I do a piece based on the Egyptian Scorpion Goddess of magic, healing, and pregnancy. I just finished her, and so am posting her here first. :)
I was inspired by how emperor scorpions look so cool under Blacklite, so she's a lot more abstract than Sobek was. I tried to work in colors that look like everything is cast under a Blacklite in a weird sort of modern-ish way. Very different from my usual style. She was fun to work on and I may still do some touching up on her. Thanks for the idea, Monty!

Cool. What program did you use?
Re: Selket the Scorpion Goddess
I draw each piece in pencil, my other half inks it, then we scan it into photoshop for coloring.

very cool! I love egypt, so much I wanted to study egyptology. Their legends are so colorful, and so is this art piece. You continue to be amazing! :gj:

Thank you! I do plan on more Egypt based pieces too, as well as Deities from other parts of the world. :)
I think the next Egyptian one will be a blend of Hathor and the Hindu Nandi or Nandini after I finish a few other works I have underway. After that, I want to try and turn my attention more to other parts of the world for a bit. We'll see, kind of depends on where the muses take me. ;)
