Wow, those are some crazy patterns! I've been comparing the KRG with Enchi and it looks like KRG reduces the pattern even more and breaks up the repeating patterns especially with Pastel and Fire. I also noticed that it's not very popular, not many people doing much with KRG, in fact that's the first KRG firefly that I can find anywhere, maybe a worlds first? Looks like there is still a lot to be done with that gene. I would love to see what a KRG clown would look like!!

    cchardwick,
Yes, Kalabash! I believe both animals are a first. KRG does it's own thing, the KRG Firefly looks nothing like Woma, Blade or Enchi Fireflies. This is my fourth year working the KRG project. I did make dbl.het Clown Pieds last season, 1.4, though the male is ready now and has been paired, I have only seen one lock, so I think next season we'll see KRG Clowns. I have another clutch cooking 8 eggs, due to hatch May 29. Pairing was a KRG Pastel Pied x Black Pastel Lesser. I'll also have clutches from KRG Pastel Pied x OD, and Cinder Specter x KRG Pied. Should be interesting. I'll post the clutches in this thread has they hatch. I love what this gene does, pattern reduction, adds melanin, cleans up the "noise", increases contrast, and they still look great as adults!

    Cheers!

That second one has very distinct Kalabash black banding. Nice lookers.

Thanks, I appreciate your observation. I've been working this gene for 5 years now and finally have adults producing with the genetics I want. I know you have worked with the Kalabash gene through your several posts. What do you feel are it's strengths? What KRG morphs are you working with? Can you share some pics of your results with us?
