Malaysian King Cobra

Wow, dude is crazy! Wouldn't catch me doing that but if that's your thing then hey, more power too ya. What a beautiful snake though. Never ceases to amaze me how big these Cobras are.

That IS a beautiful snake & HUGE! His video demonstrates that when you live with a venomous snake & they sense you pose them no threat (it takes experience
to read the snake's body language & to make sure they are reading yours...hots are NOT the place to make mistakes!) they really DON'T want to bite you & mostly
will not. However, little things can go wrong and one little slip can send a danger signal to the snake & result in a lethal self-defense bite out of instinctive panic...
I guess only time will tell how long this guy is "around"? He's not the first to handle a king cobra...it's been done long ago and before I was born by a petite older
lady named Grace Olive Wiley (google her ;)). She free-handled hots for many years until a slip up (a new, small cobra whose gape she underestimated & was
handling for an interview) killed her at age 64 (in 1948). :snake: "Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya?"

Using a lockable shift cage as he did is very smart...hots that are worked gently this way & allowed to hide rather than be forcefully taken out of their comfort zone
tend to get much more relaxed towards their keepers, realizing that they aren't under attack. Feeling safe means lower stress so they stay healthier too. Doubt if
any company will sell this guy life insurance though...or homeowner's insurance. (FYI- for any wanna-be's reading this)

This guy has over 1,000 hours of experience per species of snake before he was able to buy one. And most importantly he has a full binder of what to do with maps to the best place to go if ever bitten. He is not as reckless as it looks.

That's the first time I've seen him. He's awesome! You can tell he's got nothing but the utmost respect for his animals and he treats them accordingly. I'm not gonna lie. I got a bit of anxiety at the end there when he was putting it away and it started getting a little wirey haha

IF he's ever bitten? -more like "when"... Even the skilled & empathetic Grace O. Wiley had a few "practice" bites before the lethal one.

Maps are great but getting there fast enough & with the correct anti-venom ready to administer is what matters. But he's doing what he loves & plenty of other passions
are just as risky, but they aren't with snakes!- :O LOL- so they seem OK to many more people...things like auto-racing or sky-diving...hey, brain injuries in football aren't
that cool either...:rolleyes:

That cobra was pretty mellow and you could tell that it knew the routine, also that it had no fear of him & was never treated badly. Still a wild animal though, always
a chance for unpredictable behavior.

I'm subbed to this guy, he has many good videos, even four baby boas:-)

Amazing animal. Not for me. Mad respect for him.
