My Girl Sunshine After 5 Years
It's hard to believe that over 5 years have past.

Here she is when I got her:

    And here she's is now:

She has grown a lot even in the last year. She's getting to be a real handful. Changing her cage is an adventure to say the least.

    From a 10 gallon to a 4 x 2. Time flies.

They sure do grow a lot! My oldest male has slowed down a lot since he reached 4 years, but he may still be growing. I didn't see an inch of growth over a year's period, though, so he may be done. He'll be 6 years next month.

It amazing when you look back and realize the incredible growth. Nice looking Boa you have there! :)

Great post! I can't wait for my cute little yearling to get nice and big. At 2 1/2 feet and a little thicker than my thumb it's hard to believe she will ever be a "real" boa, LOL.

Oh I do have a question. Would you say this is a Kahl? She is strictly a pet. I got her at Repticon for about $125. I didn't ask at the time because I had no breeding intentions and didn't really know there were different strains that were not compatible. Now I am just curious is case I ever wanted to try breeding her. Which would be way down the line if ever.

Based on appearance and the price you paid, I would say yes, Kahl strain.

That's what I thought. I had read Sharp was harder to come by and pricier. And adults I have seen were less yellow. Just wanted to make sure though.

Sharps still yellow out (all boas do) but they tend to retain more color (there are standouts in both strains and low end in both strains which is why it can sometimes be hard to tell). Kahls seem to be a more of a light lemon color while sharps are more of a bright yellow.

Here is my adult kahl and then my adult sharp to try to show what I mean:
