Here’s little Tom right after his first shed here. Which he went into shed immediately after arriving. He was a little huffy when I picked him up to remove the old skin.

Congratulations! I have been wishing I had a pair of orange heads! It is my understanding that orange heads are basically a different species (or locale?) than the black heads and chrome heads. From what I understand, it isn't possible to produce orange heads by pairing any combination of chrome heads or black heads. Whereas, chrome x black, chrome x chrome, black x black can produce both chrome heads and black heads. So, i'm curious if it's possible to produce orange heads by pairing one with a chrome or black head? A lot of people might say it would be best to keep the orange heads pure by breeding orange head x orange head. What are all of your thoughts on this?

This little bugger is still being a picky eater and only wants live. He seems be be getting a bit darker, or Atleast his dark spots are getting more black. I’m hoping to get him into FT but I’m gonna wait until he has a bit more size before I try to wait him out.

Yes, that's all correct. Orange-heads are the northern versions and black/chrome heads are the southern versions so they're entirely separate populations and shouldn't be mixed. I've also heard that Orange-heads are a bit smaller.
Chrome and black heads seem to be the "same" in that you can get mixed babies out of a single breeding and they come from the same population. I believe you can even get chromes from two black head parents and vice versa.

Glad to see he's still doing good! He is gorgeous!
