I think many just forget that Royals are nocturnal...

I also see comments sometimes that their Royal does nothing ... then I see their photos and it’s in a plastic tub with ONE hide and a small water dish.

Weird thing is I'm practically nocturnal myself so I should theoretically see him at his most active, but he's just content to lounge around most of the time by default. At least he's like his owner lol.

Also to bring this thread back to topic for the OP, here he is. This is Zebes, my five month old banana morph.

What an adorable and beautiful BP, his colours are gorgeous and he has some really nice blushing!

Zebes is still very young so it's no wonder that he is staying in his hide most of the time, my BP was the same when he was little. BPs are more timid and shy as babies and get bolder when they become adults. I'd wager that once Zebes' gets bigger and he starts looking for females he will become more active as well.

Why thank you. Every occasion I hold him I always take time to admire his beautiful patterns in detail. :snake:

And yeah I can see that. His enclosure is also a bit bigger than recommended for his age (30 gallon tank) but I took care to add extra clutter so he still feels secure enough to still venture out willingly (which I have seen him do). At any rate though I don't particularly mind, as far as I'm concerned I take it as a good thing since it means he's happy and comfortable.

Two actually. I've never seen them used after his first initial month or so however.

I thought BPs tended to be more semi-arboreal when young and climb less with age? That's the general consensus I've heard at least.

Mine hasn't come out in two weeks because he was in shed. He usually comes out every night and is vary active and curious. He's only 6 months old and shed yesterday so he's looking fresh.
