    Rant
I just kinda want to rant. I’m so mad.
I found out mowgli’s stuck eye caps are worse than I thought. They’re scarred to his eyes, and even worse it’s constricting his left eye pretty bad so his eye may need to be removed.
Now why I’m so mad about this is because as some of you may know, I rescued/ adopted Mowgli from someone who could no longer care for him.
Thank god I did. I’ve had him for about 3 months now and noticed there was a problem, the owner before me had Mowgli for 4+ years and just left this poor snake in this condition all this time to the point it got this bad.
    It’s neglect, plain and simple.
Why get a pet just to use as a prop or because it’s cool, you’re ruining its life!!!

I kinda want to send the previous owner the bill and rage out on them, but I don’t think that’s the appropriate way to go about being upset.. just so mad at that guy. Mowgli is such a great snake, really deserved better than to be blinded by ignorance.

Oh to add - he has another vets appointment this Friday, where he has to go under euthanasia to hopefully get the scarring off. If not they will be removing his left eye (it’s the worse) to keep it from getting infected or bursting. Friday is my birthday. 😒

I hope so too, I can’t imagine how much better he’ll feel when his eyes aren’t bugging him

I think you meant to say "under anesthesia"? I know you're upset, & I sure don't blame you, but hopefully no "euthanasia" is needed here...:(

Yes sorry, lol. Was typing like a mad man yesterday, so my phone filled in the spaces where it could, with what it thought

    Update:
They spent a good 30 mins trying to remove his eye caps while he was under and the left eye has made no progress so it’s going to be removed. There’s a strong chance the right may need to be removed because they’re having trouble getting all the scar shed off. They’re going to keep trying with his right, but shortly he’ll be going into surgery.

It's both infuriating & pathetic that the former owner neglected a pet this way...we're all ranting with you in our hearts. :tears: Keeping my fingers crossed they can still
    save his right eye.

    Update:

He is actually a she, they went ahead and probed her while she was under. They actually were able to save both eyes. Her left is really raw and bled a bit because they had to cut through it to remove it, so there’s a lot of trauma to her left eye but it will heal. She will be on eye drops for the next 2 weeks and has to go for antibiotics in 3 days.

They said there was at least 2-3 stuck eye caps, and confirmed that it happened over a long period of time, through neglect

anyways! I’m beyond relieved she gets to keep both eyes and can see now! The vet did warn me her next shed would be rough so she will need regular medicated baths when it comes to then, but tit for tat really if it means she can see.

It was cute to see her re-explore her enclosure, she couldn’t slither around fast enough to see what she’s been feeling this whole time
