Legacy Glass for digital camera

So, as I research to increase my number of lenses, I have decided to scour eBay for some quality yet inexpensive legacy glass. They are all manual focus, but that is fine since the NEX-6 has a great focus peaking option. Most of the lenses are from the '70's.

Here are the legacy primes I have picked up so far:

For macro - Vivitar Series 1 90mm f/2.5 with the 1:1 adapter MD mount. I am super stoked on this lens.

Also, picked up a funky 35mm f/1.7 CCTV lens with NEX adapter for around $20 new. Should be a fun lens for artistic shoots.

Is anyone else out there using 40 year old glass on their digital camera?

I'm seriously debating buying the D90 and the only reason I even want a camera like that is to take nice pictures, mainly macros. I have zero knowledge on any kind of cameras so I'd love to have help and to learn a bit along the way.

I went mirrorless for the size and price. This camera will shoot better than I can.

As for Macro, the lens I have up there is a true 1:1 macro and on the NEX-6 it is a 135mm equivalent, so I can get 1:1 shots without being right on top of the subject. With that said, for the most part you d onto need something like that for closeups on BPs. Any lens that has a short minimum focal distance and some sharp detail, will net you some good pics. The lens above is for right up on the eye or scales shots and for shooting bugs.

That Minolta is a great lens.. Is Manual or AF ??? because if that's af you shouldn't have any Issue ... Sony use old Minolta mounts... because they bought Minolta few years back...

The lenses I have been buying are MF, and still require a adapter to the Sony E-mount.

does the adaptor sit inside the sony mount? some adaptors sit out side and you lose the infinity stop. i was looking at a few mirrorless systems and that is a priority for me.

The adapter for the NEX system is outside, because these full frame lenses need the offset for the NEX sized sensor. I have not read any infinity issues when using the legacy lenses with the NEX. Plus the NEX has a really strong focus peaking feature to ensure focus.

The MC/MD to NEX adapter from Rainbowimaging specifically states it allows focus to infinity.

I'll have to look into something like that some of the adapters I have looked at move the nodal point and mess up the infinity stop. Thanks!
