I'm saddened that they would waste these animals lives... how horrible it must be to freeze to death.:(

Really look at the info and see what this does to the current ideas of a Python invasion of the US, an idea proposed by the USGS who is spearheading the current legislation to take away our right to keep these amazing animals.

I think this was an awesome research project.

Unfortunately research like this HAS to be done to prove to stubborn politicians that these animals are NOT able to survive in anything other that tropical climates. And that they can not actually invade the whole country :O.

    Thanks for sharing this article!

So you'd rather the study not happen and pythons get banned?

Well of course not... I just hate that the animals had to die what I imagine would be a slow painful death in order to prove something. While the research may be "necessary" doesn't make the death of these animals any less sad or wasted.

Guess I shouldn't have voiced my feelings on the matter. ~Back to lurking~

    Brie,

I understand where you are coming from; no one on here wants to see an animal suffer. Unfortunately, this type of research has to be done to prove that pythons are a tropical animal and will not invade the United States. This is part of the step's we have to take to decrease the chances of a ban on all pythons. This is a very sensitive subject here and people do get heated please don’t allow a few aggressive comments dissuade you from participating in this forum.
