That’s one helluva gang of critters you’ve got there, Zig! Love that Argentine!
Every time I see a picture of Klauss I wonder if I’d like a scrub python, then I consider the logistics of cleaning and feeding a 7’+ heat seeking missile with teeth... [emoji51][emoji23]

I definitely wouldn’t recommend scrubs over carpets or boas, but my guy is growing on me. I’ve had him for a little over 2 years now and we’ve made quite a bit of progress. He’s still the last choice when I want to “play” with my snakes, and I still use gloves to remove him from his enclosure, but I ditch them after just a few minutes. He hasn’t tagged me in a couple of months and hasn’t musked in a while either, even when I have to occasionally wrestle him off the jungle gym. We’re not all kisses and cuddles but he’s much more relaxed and less defensive than he was when I got him. I’m learning to trust him more too. The biggest issue for me isn’t necessarily what he does but what he could do. His movements are unlike any of my other snakes, and his energy is more intense, so he keeps me on alert. Like Wnateg said, they’re very fast, they’re also surprisingly strong, and they have a really long strike range so controlling them can be difficult. I’m learning to flow with him more instead of fighting against him. All my other snakes, including my olive, who’s bigger than the scrub, are much easier to handle, but once he relaxes he’s actually kinda fun to hang out with. I even got in some rubs under his chin the other day.

The boas are growing slowly but surely. The BI is a 2017 male and the BCO is a 2018 female.

I liked this pic for some reason.

This is my slowest growing Morelia. He's a 2015 just like the JCP in the pic above but much smaller. Probably because he's a part time "mouser".

Still learning the ropes with this guy. I realized yesterday that he does NOT like being tapped or pulled with the hook. I wanted to take him out of his enclosure to clean and change his water. It's easier to get him out if he's in a hide but he was perched on his shelf facing me. I tapped him on the snoot, and rubbed his side, with the hook and tried to grab a coil to pull him out. That didn't quite work. He struck defensively but missed. I quickly closed the sliding glass before he could lunge again. I decided to leave him alone rather than fight which would almost certainly have meant getting tagged and crapped on. He was coiled up and on high alert for a while but finally settled down after about 30 minutes. A couple of hours later he was relaxing on the floor of his enclosure at the front of the glass. I already had on a long sleeve shirt so I put on my gloves and decided to try again without the hook this time. I quickly slid the glass open and confidently grabbed the thickest part of his body. Once he turned and tried to retreat I knew I was ok. He came out pretty easily after that. I ditched the gloves and the rest was a breeze. He didn't strike or musk. I put him on the jungle gym while I did my cage maintenance and he was a perfect gentleman going back into the enclosure. He ate a large rat a week ago so he won't get another meal for a few weeks but I might toss him a chick as a snack since he was such a good boy.

Dude, the contrast on your Argentine girl is outstanding! Love how dark she’s getting too. What’s she weigh now?

    Great looking critters as always!!
