Behaviors or conditions that indicate a sick BP?

I’ve caught my snake opening her mouth wide a couple of times over the past week (but I am not home everyday). She is also hanging out outside of her cool hide. She seems content, but I’m worried something may be wrong. Any advice or previous posts that may help? Thank you -

She's probably just yawning or re-aligning her jaw. As long as you don't hear wheezing or see any mucousy discharge or drool I wouldn't worry. Just keep an eye on it.

Snakes yawn. Not a big deal. As Craig said, look for other signs of illness like:

Lethargy

Not eating

Trouble breathing and or discharge

Defensivness

Keep us posted, but sounds okay to me.

Hi All - I took her to the vet. We’ve had her 5 years (adopted at 7-8 yrs old), and she’s never had a check up, so it was good to establish care if nothing else, she was unusually lethargic and struck at my spouse (Which I read as aggressive, even though a hand was waved right in front of her when she was hungry), and I didn’t even know for sure she is a she.

Turns out she does have a URI, wheezing, and some swelling in her mouth. She reflected two rats earlier this week, but is a good weight, and should make a great recovery after 10 injections over the next 30 days. I got some reassurance about her feeding schedule, and some great advice on her light/heat/humidity from a female vet (not that it matters, but it was cool) that actually owns a ball python. Blood draw for sexing complete, and some peace of mind. Thank you so much for that list of behaviors/conditions - it tipped us into action.
