    Denton line longicauda progression
What quickly became my dream boa subspecies joined the family today. Right after he decided to go into blue, no less!

This is Kuzco, a wonderful het anery Boa imperator longicauda produced by the equally wonderful Allison Theus, AKA Crispysnakes. Her blog is a major reason why I got into boas, and its feels like things have come full circle now that I have a boa from one of the pairings that brought me to this side of the hobby.

Kuzco caught my attention when he was born back in July. He seemed special to me, and he even drew my eyes away from the aneries in the litter I had been eyeballing earlier. When I found out he was still available back in early February, I decided that I had to snap him up.

I finally pulled the trigger after playing with the ~6 ft Suriname dakski posted a photo of a while back (thanks dakski!) and deciding that I enjoyed and felt comfortable with boas that size. I definitely won't be going any larger, though -- I don't think the me of 30 years down the road will want to deal with anything far beyond six feet. It's hard to think that he'll eventually get to be six feet looking at him now, though. Even though he's a full month older, he seems like he's only half Adelita's size. He feels like a shoestring compared to her!

With Kuzco, I have my last "gotta have it!" boa. While I love a lot of other boa localities, I just don't feel like I need them. The plan is to just sit back with Adelita and Kuzco for the next few years and enjoy what I have.

So, here's to a couple good decades with this guy! I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy them.

Congratulations on your new pick up, longicauda are fantastic boas and change so much from juvenile to adult, I love my pair.there iridescence is so cool
There not heavy bodied like most boas so I think you will be fine, my male isn't even. 5ft and he's 4yrs old.

look forward to the progression thread

Had this tiny little gent out for a hot second to check on him and he's looking good! Kuzco's settling in well after a week and has just gone clear-eyed. If this is him dull, he'll be a knockout after a good shed!
