I got scammed or what? Pictures!

Okay I just traded my albino boa for these two ball pythons. One of them is a male spider and the other one is a female "pastel". I was told that she's currently in shed but I'm starting to think that she's just a normal now. I got some pics and so I'll let you guys help me decide?

Looks like a very browned out pastel. If it has a clear belly and green eyes then its a pastel, just not a good example of one.

....she has got some nice yellow and white sides...yellowbelly?

the head looks like a pastel but the body looks like a normal (IMO)

but I am completely unexperienced with bp morphs.

It's a Pastel, just a very poor example of one. Is it even female?

Yea looks like a Browned Out pastel.. they do that some times

Hmmmm that sucks, I thought it's because it's just in shed that it's that color. I had some debates wether or not it was even a pastel. Very dark color, but I was comparing the sides have fairly high whites. The eyes were sort of green but very dark. I hope more people reply to give me a better idea.

The Albino boa was worth more...

My guess is that she is a browned out pastel, but I'd listen more to some of the other people that have already posted than to myself. Makes me feel good that they said the same thing.

If she is in shed, she might brighten up and look a lot better when she does shed, but I still wouldn't expect her to be a great pastel. Post pics after she's shed and see what people have to say then!

However, a female pastel, even if she isn't a great one, is not a bad thing. Pair her up with some quality males, and you could still get some nice combos or supers out of her.

Thats a pastel for sure and she will be nicer after her shed :)

Well, not necessarily my Albino Boa had great colors after her shed. Her end of the tail was hooked due to bad shed from previous owner and she was born with a small defect on her tail which looked like a bone sticking out. I got her for $400 Canadian. Male spider in Canada can sell $300 and that's super rare. Pastel females range from $300 on average. Since mine is a bad example, as bad as it gets 100 bucks. I don't think I'm losing out on anything.

It does look like a browned out pastel to me.

100% Pastel shes just a little brown but I would expect her to lighten up a little after her shed:)

Look at the sides of the belly. I've seen tons of browned out pastel pics with that going on.

I think you got a completely fair deal for the boa.

Looks pastel, definately browned out, post more pics after a shed. If the spider is nice and light you could still make some really nice bees with them.

Ah I didn't realize you were in Canada, in the US spiders are as low as $250...:(

It's a pastel, not the prettiest, but a pastel. If it is a female, it was still a fair deal. Generally, pastels with more yellow make prettier bees, but you never know, she could throw some lookers.

What color are her eyes?

In a word.... No.

Again, browned out Pastel. I've seen some really browned out Pastels that threw great lookin babies so don't dismiss her on her looks alone.

Definitely not an enchi... but yes, a pastel.

Some of them get that dark dorsal tipping, but give the poor girl a chance to shed.

I will be the dissenter. I do not think she is browned out... I think she is a Graziani that has heavy black dorsal tipping. Once she sheds my bet is on dark shots from above, with nice bright yellow on her sides. :)

You will have black and yellow, but I doubt you will have brown on her...

How old is the female Pastel? I ask because age has alot to do with it. I have some 5 year old Pastel females that have browned some in their older age, but looked great at 2 years old. Everything, I mean everything, gets some brown/darker pigments to it as it ages. I have especially noticed the "darkening" kick in somewhere around the 4 year old point.

Enchis look nothing like pastels except for having lighter/yellow coloring. They have a definite reduced pattern which is caused by the enchi gene, which is always what I look for the most since it is easier for me to spot than coloration, which is affected by differences between snakes, aging, and not to mention the differences that lighting conditions make in the color of a picture.

It looks like she is in shed... wait to she has shed and I don't think she will be that dark... It is a pastel, she looks like some of my 07 females.. not the best pastels but that don't make them not pastels..

I don't get why you trade when you don't know if you got the right animals.. mabey you need to do some homework...

Yes, especially since it is in shed. My 06 male looks similar before a shed, but has nice yellow sides afterwards.

It's more than possible that they are actually born that brown...

I wonder if browned out pastels can give birth to some light babies. I guess only time will tell. I hope she will help me throw some stunners for me.

Sure they can. Remember only half of the genetics of any of her offspring will come from her. Pair her up with some quality males and she'll give you quality offspring. Maybe not top notch, but only time will tell. We still don't even know what she will look like once she's freshly shed.

Yea she's a pastel......How about the spider what quality is he? How many grams was your albino and these two? might make a difference weather you got a good deal or not.

My Spider is currently in shed right now so I will keep you guys updated with that. I will posts pics after they both sheded.

I think you got a hell of a deal ! 07 pastels are going for big bucks around here$400 to 800 bucks depends on the size. Male spider ready to breed you could get thousand dollars or more of off spring from that pair,as i see it albino boas are not worth much any more if you got the pair you did real well.
