Welcome to the site! BP's are a lot like Corns in the way you care for them. As for rats, yes they eat rats! But, I've heard of people feeding them a few mice instead of a rat. But, not sure it this is healthy or not! Mine are all Juvi's so they are eating Hoppers!

    Hello, and :welcome: to BP.net...

BP's can be fed rats or mice. Some will readily take both, but there are some that are "Mousers", meaning that they just refuse to eat rats, so they are usually fed multiple mice once they are adults...

Hello I am new to this sight as well. I am finding the information awesome. I have a 2 1/2 year old female bp and she will not take rats no matter what I try she is eating 2 large mice every other week and is a good weight and over all very healthy. I was told rats were a better food source and would be cheaper overall but feeding more of the smaller prey works as well. Have fun looking around I sure am.

Welcome to the forum neighbor. Both are great animals with their owns needs but if rats bother you, I would go with the corn.

I want to thank everone for the welcome. I found a breed of BPs not that far from me. When I say not that far I mean like 20 to 30 mins away. Well I pack my hubby and my 3 year old to go see his BP along with his others well just say I feel in love with a male normal BP. I will be getting him friday. He had some great looking BPS. This BP just chilled with me while I talked and my son when crazy with all the snakes there. My son loves snakes.
