I've never read that you shouldn't. Note that if you believe everything you read, you'll be in a constant state of contradiction. ;)

I love to have my big girls and boy hang out on my neck because then i can get other stuff done and they can come along. I once had to get somewhere with one (mind you i bike everywhere i go) and she's pissy when you put her in a bag, so i let her ride on my neck. She was so completely chilled out you would swear she didn't even realize we were going any faster than i do when i wander around the house *shrug* (yes i had a bag for her in case she misbehaved, but she never did)

I've never heard anything bad about it, and I do it ALL the time; Especially with Cleo, since she is shy. She's more comfy there. I do it with all of my snakes though, mainly when I am cleaning tubs. It's a way for me to keep them use to me, keep tabs on them when they don't have anywhere to hang out safely, and I just prefer it.

I have never had a problem; though my hypo is not friendly lately, and is getting in the habit of cutting off blood flow, so no more for him, Ill have to reteach him to not hold so darn tightly. He did that when I got him, and I just made sure to keep a fists room between him and the front of my throat and he soon started to do that on his own, with out me actively spacing it.

He's not trying to choke me out or anything, hes just trying to spin, and his tail gets wedged against the jugular lol.

    Things that I don't mention to non-snake people,haha!

So in general, it's no biggie, IMO, but I would definitely be cautious about a 10ft+ snake wrapped around your neck. You never know.

I let him do this all the time
He gets nice and comfortable and I'm free to walk around and clean as I wish
He's never gotten too tight or tried doing anything risky but I always take mental note of where his tail is
If I ever need to, I can just unravel him
