Re: Learning to pop... are videos enough?
You could. But I'd still recommend having someone experienced to help you. With the males, easy to tell. But with "females", just because you don't pop the hemipenes, doesn't mean it is definitely a female. That's why it would be nice to have someone there who could watch you, give pointers, and then to finally be able to confirm your results.
Re: Learning to pop... are videos enough?
I totally get what you are saying Lola. I have wathced the videos, I have watched ppl do it....but unless someone is standing right there with me while I do it...I don't think I can. lol It is just a little intimidating at first
Re: Learning to pop... are videos enough?
I have watched videos and had someone show me, but I still have not successfully popped any of my snakes. I might to up and try one of my males and see if I can get it this time, but I definitely recommend getting someone to show you.

I am on TEAM: Get Someone to Show You...
For all the same reasons as mentioned.

Re: Learning to pop... are videos enough?
Okay, okay... I'll try to get some in-person lessons! :D I will call EBV and see if they're available to help, so maybe I can get over there this weekend.
Re: Learning to pop... are videos enough?
Should popping only be done on young snakes? I heard that larger ones tend to keep it tight down there, so it makes it harder.
