    Fedex Hub Codes
    Okay,

To those of us who ship a lot, you know the lettered code on the shipping label refers to the midway shipping hub that the box will go to.

Usually two letters, then another four...

Now, does anyone know what the codes stand for? I was told back in the day, but now I am at a loss.

    Help?

those letters are routing codes, they indicate which hub the pkg. will go thru and the ultimate destination station.BTW those codes are based on the destination zip code,ALWAYS double check zip codes.have fun!

it's good to know these as i shipped to very valuable snakes to alabama. i shipped them priorioty overnight by 10 am. however, since the person lived in the boonies there was no fedex garuntee until 3 or 4 pm.

i did not know this, but if i would've known the codes, i probably would've caught it.

needless to say the snakes were on the truck all day and got cooked.

it's a good idea to check destination delivery time before shipping and pack accordenily.when i worked for fedex (1996) they covered 80% of the US population with mourning delivery,i'm sure that has increased by now.
