They won't be contending for the BCS Championship anytime soon. They're still not on that level yet.

They did win the BCS Orange Bowl two years ago...alot of those kids who played during that bowl will be seniors this year. We may not be favorites (tough when your conference has two heisman trophy candidate QB returning) but KU shouldn't be overlooked. We will have the top WR this year...Desmon Briscoe.

Still, hands down SEC has the hardest confrence. KU is in a easier confrence, and plays less credible teams.

Yes SEC was the toughest conference last year...I wouldnt go as far to say "hands down"...Big XII came in a close second. That being said, never did I state we were in the toughest conference. I just stated we have two hiesman (McCoy and Bradford) trophy candidates returning within our conference...the SEC has 1 (Tebow).

Oh I know, but I look at it like this, the reason why some teams do so good and get heisman canidates is because the confrence the play in is easier then some of the others.

You need to get over this easier conference....like I said...it was a close 1-2. Not everyone has the SEC at #1 either.

    "#1 Big XII.

The Big XII was solid during bowl season, finishing with 4-3 record. Florida may have defeated champion Oklahoma in the National Title Game, but during the course of the year the conference bore out as the deepest in the country and finishes this year with five ranked teams, including three in the top ten. The Big XII may not have been excellent on the defensive side of the football this year but the level of play from the quarterbacks and the excitement quotient were unmatched anywhere else in college football.

    #2 SEC.

The SEC didn’t boast its typical depth this season and struggled to find consistent quarterback play, as only Georgia and Florida could boast elite quarterbacks. The SEC also had three coaches replaced, meaning that the conference could continue to be very difficult with new blood diluting the pool of elite recruits. That said, the top of the SEC was as good as ever and the future looks solid as the conference reeled off a 6-2 record in bowl games. In fact, I nearly ranked the SEC first overall, something that I wouldn’t have even considered going into bowl season.

I think the SEC was #1...as they did win the national championship...but give credit where credit is due.
