Bears get Cutler for Orton and Draft Picks

anyone else hear the news? i just heard... early reports say Orton, 09 first and third rounds, and a 2010 first round picks! wow! that's a steep price....

glad the lions are drafting new players instead of trading away their precious picks.

broncos definately got the best of this deal.

This is huge for me being a Chiefs fan....

...the Broncos were just a defense away from being a serious contender. Their offense was solid even with having 7 different RB's.

...as for who got the better deal....we will see. Cutler had some nice chemistry going on with Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal. Now the Broncos are going from a for sure probowl QB to the point where they will most likely draft a QB. Meanwhile....Cutler is going to throw to...Matt Forte? Devin Hester? Chicago is lacking on wideouts, but they do not have many picks now.

So I dont know who got the better deal.

Regardless of who got the better deal, I'm still excited to see what the Bears are going to do now with Cutler...

I agree it is very exciting for the Bears. They haven't had a QB of significance during my lifetime! :P Give Bears fans to cheer about.

i think orton will prove to be better than the bears thought...

the bears' offensive scheme is the problem in my opinion. now that they've traded away their immediate future, they will be in for some real trouble.

Getting Cutler was a good move, but I have to agree with the earlier post, Who's Cutler going to throw too?

Finally ! A QB!! I'm a Bears fan, and it's about time. I'm not sure you can overpay for a 25yr old QB that has thrown for 4500yds, 25+TDs, and has run a top flight offense. They needed to do it. It's the reason they've lost a super bowl and haven't progressed through the playoffs the last few years. ....and if Cutler doesn't live up to billing in Chicago, fire the entire coaching staff.

Obviously, if you're a Denver fan you're furious. I think they should have fired McDaniels - unproven rookie head coaches are a dime a dozen, young proven QBs are not. What a debacle.

But Orton can be solid. He was solid up until he got hurt. And Brandon Lloyd got hurt at roughly the same time too, and Lloyd had a couple really nice games in there. So Orton was hurt, and he had the worst receiving core in the league. He did blow plenty of throws he should have made, but it wouldn't surprise me if he throws for 3500+/25TDs.
