    My new Ball Python
Hi i am new on here i brought a ball python last tuesday he was born CB on 21/07/06 he is 19 inches long and 85 grams in weight. I have him in a 2ft vivarium the warm end is 91 and the cool end is 84. i have habistat thermostat and nighteye that drops the temp by 4 at night time for heat i am using one heat mat at bottom of vivarium and a reptile heater screwed to ceiling of vivarium. The humidity is 50% during the day and 60% in the evening. He has one hide at one end and a long log in the middle of the vivarium with a 2 inch water bowl in the centre. I fed him on tuesday as the man in the shop said on one fuzzy defrosted mice and i feed him again sunday evening on 2 defrosted fuzzy mice he ate all of these no problem.

Justed wanted to know if the above all sounds ok and if anyone thinks i should change anything. (This is my first snake so please tell me if i need to change anything.):taz:

It sounds good but, you may want to bump the warm side to 92-94* and 82-84* is fine for the cooler side. These tepms do not need to drop at night either. You should maintain a constant temp (as stated previously) 24/7/365. Breeding is another story though. The humidity should remain constant at 50-60% also, except when in shed (60-70%). You are on the right track, just a few suggestions. Do you have a picture yet? we're kind of obsessed with pictures LOL!

BTW, glad he ate F/T for you. You really only need to feed 1 time per week. I feed same day and time every week. It makes it easier for me to remember and he knows that day is feeding day already.

I also, forgot that you may want to invest in two identical tight/small hides for him. They like to be snug. Half logs are too open for BP's

Hi and welcome to BP.net! :handshake:

I think your setup sounds pretty decent. The only thing I'd really want to change is to get two really tight fitting hides...one at each end. A third one in the middle is nice if you have room for it. And the drop in temps at night isn't necessary. Otherwise, everything sounds really great...sounds like your BP has a great new home!

You'll need to use an image editing program on your own computer to resize the pictures, and then you can upload them to your gallery space here at BP.net and post them in threads. Look at the "Site Info" forum...there are some threads that are "stickied" at the top of the forum that tell how to do this. :)
