    When is he full???
We've had our baby pastel male ball python for about a month now... has been fed a few times.. just fed him 1 adult mouse wednesday... he seemed not satisfied so i got him a hopper tonight and he scarfed it up within seconds and he still seems like he is looking for food...should i feed him 2 adult mice next time...I dont know what to do..

I dont want to over feed and and i defenitely dont want to under feed...should i offer 2 adults and or 1 adult and 1 hopper at a time after that...

What's the weight of the snake and the weight of the rodents? The easiest way to tell if he's getting enough to eat is by weight. If he's eating 10-15% of his body weight say once a week and still seeming hungry you could put him on a 5-day feeding schedule. Babies seem to eat a lot more readily than adults because they have to very quickly get off the bottom of the food chain before they're killed themselves. Some snakes will eat anything you put in front of them up until the time they hit 500-800 grams or so and then they slow down. He might just be hungry and he'll take it. So long as you're not power feeding (inserting the head of another prey item into the ball's mouth while it's already swallowing the first) you're probably okay offering until he refuses.

Slightly under feeding is better than slightly over feeding.

Here is a time proven formula that will take every bit of the guess work out of the question.

    Get a scale
Weigh your snake in the unit of your choice (I prefer grams)
    Right that number down
Determine what 10-15% of that number is
Find a rodent that weighs the same as that number or as close as possible
Feed one of these to your snake every 5-7 days

    It's fool proof :gj:
