Two geckos = twice the problems

I have one leo I adopted as a juvi in march. She seems to be healthy but doesnt have spots yet. I dont know if that is normal.

I recently adopted a leo from someone who claimed to feed him dog food and a few crickets! He has no toes and is 9 years old. I picked him up and he pooped on my and bit me. I took him home and have been slowly getting him used to me. ( he is doing much better in the few days ive had him) The problem is, he eats like a bottomless pit! I fed him 30 mealworms and 10 large crickets last night and they are all gone. I put 40 more Large mealworms in his tank and he scarfed them down in ten min. Even while I was still putting them in there.

Does he eat too much? Should I limit his food more? I dont want him to be hungry but he may just not be used to having so much food. I dont know what to think. My girl only eats 7 mealworms and 6 crickets in a week if I am lucky. They both have 90 hot sides and 80 low. I keep the heating pads on at night so it doesnt get cold so it isnt a temp difference. They both have nice fat tails...

Is his tail skinny? They store fat in there so I imagine if he wasn't coming from ideal conditions he doesn't have much in terms of reserves. He will probably slow down once he realizes that he will have a consistent food supply.

Also bigger geckos eat more food. :P

As for your little one not having any spots, she's probably a super hypo tangerine.

Geckos will eat till they burst this is normal. We feed adults 2-3 supers, and 2-3 roaches every other day for non breeding season. They also have a dish of meal worms that is filled everyday no real # to speak of just throw a bunch in. If we see a gecko getting fat we lower the amounts if they are thin we raise it. Breeders are a whole different story they get 4-5 supers, 5-7 roaches, and the mealworm cups are filled as high as they can go.
